The Inn

Located on the shores of Lake Flower in Saranac Lake.

We invite you to stay with us at Branch Farm Bed & Breakfast, a lakefront inn in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.  Located on the shores of Lake Flower in Saranac Lake, the property has over a thousand feet of waterfront and more than one hundred acres of hilly woods and fields which are open for exploration and enjoyment by guests.  There are beautiful views of the water and surrounding mountains, and the land is home to a wide variety of wildlife.

Branch Farm is a pleasant one mile walk (or 2,000 yard paddle) to the Village of Saranac Lake town center and a short drive to either Tupper Lake or Lake Placid, site of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Winter Games.  Guests may launch their own canoe, kayak or other watercraft right from our dock. Boats may be also be rented from multiple outfitters in town, and we would be happy to help with these arrangements.

The Innkeepers

Historical records show that the property was owned by Joseph Branch and operated as a working farm in the early twentieth century. The land was acquired by the Schmeichel family in 1956 and used primarily as a summer residence.  In 1999, Cal and Chris Schmeichel moved to Saranac Lake full-time and established Branch Farm Bed & Breakfast, where they have been welcoming guests for over 20 years.  Their daughter, Lisa Crocker, and her husband Lou are now continuing their tradition of hospitality at this beautiful place.
